HALIFAX HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY

Halifax Lutheran Hospital Chaplaincy is a ministry done in partnership with the Anglican Diocese of NS and PEI. The Diocese of NS and PEI has hired a Lutheran Chaplain, Rev.Les Skonnord, as a full time Anglican Chaplain at the QEII Hospital. Atlantic Lutheran congregations buy back twenty per cent of the chaplain's time to visit Lutherans who find themselves in the city for treatment. This ministry is important as more and more people are being sent to Halifax from rural areas. It is often difficult or impossible for their own pastors to visit. Having a friendly face, a listening ear, and a prayer from a Lutheran Chaplain is greatly appreciated by patients. The chaplain also has the pleasure of meeting people who have been disassociated from the church but, due to crisis, want to engage faith. If you find yourself at the QEII or VG hospitals, do not hesitate to call the Spiritual Care Office and ask to see the chaplain.
